H.R.H. Princess Abze Djigma was keynote speaker at “Building confidence in adopting Carbon Pricing Instruments at COP25

Until recently, support for considering and establishing carbon pricing focused on individual national jurisdictions. Nevertheless, over the last few years, donors and supported countries alike have shown increased interest for establishing alliances and networks on carbon pricing at the regional level. Such cooperation can ensure regional alignment, pave the way for regional markets but also share knowledge and know-how directly in the regions where support is needed, while also preparing countries for article 6 readiness.

This event presented the benefits of regional cooperation on carbon pricing, presented examples, took stock of the current status quo and potential needs for accelerating action on article 6 readiness on the ground.
