The Midterm Review of the Istanbul Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries took place in Antalya, Turkey from 27-29 May 2016. The conference undertook a comprehensive review of the implementation of the Istanbul Programme of Action by the least developed countries (LDCs) and their development partners and likewise reaffirmed the global commitment to address the special needs of the LDCs.
Prior to the Midterm review H.R.H. Princess Abze Djigma participated in the Private Sector Forum on investment opportunities in LDC’s in Antalya. She represented the business perspective in the thematic session: International support to increase the flow of sustainable investment to the LDCs in the context of the IPoA and the SDGs.

During the Midterm Review H.R.H Princess Abze Djigma participated as an expert in the high level round table: Productive capacity, agriculture,food security and rural development. The keynote speaker in this panel was Mr. Neven Mimica, Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, European Union. The other panelist were: H.E. Mr. Khandker Mosharraf Hossein (Bangladesh), Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives; H.E. Mr. Ardalan Shekarabi (Sweden), Minister for Public Administration; Dr. Shamshad Akhtar (Pakistan), Executive Secretary, ESCAP, Ms. Helen Hai (China), CEO, Made in Africa Initiative andMr. Gilbert Houngbo (Togo), Deputy Director-General for Field Operations & Partnerships, ILO.
