During COP25 in December 2019, H.R.H. Princess Abze Djigma participated as a speaker at the MPGCA SDG 7 Roundtable.
Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) calls for ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all by 2030 through the achievement of three targets, namely ensuring universal access to affordable, reliable and modern energy services; increasing substantially the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix; and doubling the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency. Touching nearly all aspects of society, access to energy is a prerequisite for the achievement of other SDGs. Achieving SDG7 in the context of the Paris Agreement on climate change means a rethink on how we produce, distribute and consume energy.
H.R.H. Princess Abze Djigma demonstrated Africans are not waiting but are taking action already.
