The H.R.H. Princess Abze Djigma Foundation primary focus is to provide affordable light and energy to those who have no access to electricity.
Access to light and energy is one of the key limiting and blocking factors in developing countries to eradicate poverty.
Over 2.5 Billion people in the world struggle with their access => 1.1 Billion people have no access to electricity and about 1.5 Billion people only have limited access. (source of this number and the pictures below are from Atlas of Sustainable Development Goals 2017 of the World Bank Group)
Activities that are normal in the western world, like switching on the light when it is dark, reading a book in the evening, using a coffee machine, having (cold drinks in the) in the refrigerator, charging phones or laptops, working in the evening are not possible or very problematic for 2.5 billion people in the world.
Proving access to light and affordable energy is the first step in empowering them to start building a better future.
